Athena Accelerator: Fading Active Scaffolding (Beta) — Expanded Coverage & Student Journey Insights

Building on our Alpha release, this Beta brings Fading Active Scaffolding to a significantly broader scope—now covering the first four complete units of Grade 3. We’ve also made quality improvements and added student journey persistence and visualization, giving stakeholders the visibility needed to inspect, analyze, and continuously improve the scaffolding system.

  • Expanded Unit Coverage – Fading Active Scaffolding is now available across the first four units of Grade 3, a major expansion from the initial Alpha scope of four skills in a single unit.
  • Quality Improvements – Refined scaffolding question generation and improved decision logic for when and how scaffolds are deployed, resulting in more targeted and effective interventions.
  • Student Journey Persistence & Visualization – Student progress through scaffolded sequences is now persisted and visualizable, enabling stakeholders to inspect individual learning journeys and identify areas for further system refinement.
  • Bug Fixes – Addressed multiple issues identified during Alpha testing to improve overall stability and reliability.
  • Known Beta Limitations – As we continue iterating, you may encounter occasional cases where a correct student input doesn’t match the expected answer format, or where a scaffolding question feels redundant or complex for the student. Your feedback on these edge cases is invaluable for improving the system.

BrainLift Space: Bulk Operations & Reliability Improvements

This week brings powerful new productivity features to BrainLift Space, along with critical bug fixes to improve the reliability of Deep Research workflows.

  • Faster Branch deletes – When you delete a large branch it now complests with a couple of seconds.
  • Deep Research Notification Fix – Fixed a bug where Deep Research notifications would incorrectly appear when viewing a different BrainLift, ensuring you only see relevant updates for your current workspace.

LearnLens Studio: Intelligent Flashcard System — Learn Once, Remember Forever

Stop forgetting what you learn. LearnLens Studio now automatically generates AI-powered flashcards for every course, using science-backed spaced repetition to move knowledge from short-term to long-term memory.

  • AI-Generated Visual Flashcards – Every key concept is automatically transformed into an illustrated flashcard with AI-generated imagery that reinforces retention. No manual card creation required.
  • Smart Spaced Repetition (FSRS-5) – Cards appear exactly when your brain needs them. The system learns from your performance: struggle with a concept? You’ll see it sooner. Mastered it? It returns at optimal intervals.
  • Adaptive Learning Flow – Cards unlock progressively as you complete segments, preventing cognitive overload. Struggling with quizzes? Related flashcards activate automatically to reinforce weak areas.
  • Interleaved Practice – Test your ability to connect concepts across topics with cross-concept synthesis cards—proven to increase retention by 50%+.

Athena Applets: Grade 3 Completion & Interaction Review Prototype

All Grade 3 Athena math lessons have been generated, reviewed, and uploaded, and we’ve added new instrumentation to review how learners interact with key prompts.

  • Grade 3 coverage – 95 / 95 Grade 3 lessons are now live in Athena.
  • Pop-up prompt prototype – Prototype ‘pop-up prompts’ added to test multiple learner interaction and continuation flows.
  • Timeline review markers – Visual timeline markers added for ‘pop-up prompts’ and ‘prompt for participation’ events to support earlier detection and review.
