  • Grade 5 (US History to 1820): Pass rate improved from 94.4% to 99.72%.

  • Grade 7 (Medieval & Early Modern World History): Pass rate improved from 91.5% to 99.44%.
  • Grade 8 (US History — Constitution to Reconstruction): Newly launched with a pass rate of 99.25%.

Athena Accelerator - QTI Content Renderer & Embeddable Player

This release shifts focus from question authoring to the rendering and delivery experience. The foundation for an embeddable QTI player is in place, a modular design token system makes theming a drop-in operation, and a new Playful theme targeting younger learners (K-5) ships alongside the refined default.

  • Embeddable Player Foundation – The QTI player is served from a dedicated /player iframe route with postMessage communication, making it embeddable in any frontend technology with no framework dependency. Today, hosts can supply QTI XML and get a fully interactive assessment with scoring and feedback. Next up: a wrapper SDK for message orchestration and Timeback content fetching so hosts can request questions by criteria instead of managing XML.
  • Design Token System & Modular SCSS – Hardcoded styles have been replaced with a layered token system (primitive palette → semantic roles → component tokens) and component styles extracted into composable SCSS mixins. Content is centered and width-constrained for focused readability. Adding a new theme is now just a token override file — no component changes needed.
  • Playful Theme (K-5) – A warm coral/orange theme with Fredoka typeface, chunky 3D-press buttons, bouncy selection animations, and larger radii — targeting younger grades. Includes light and dark variants and respects prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Known Issues – Vertical spacing rhythm between elements is not yet token-controlled. QTI generation needs updates to apply proper styling classes to all semantic elements. Text-to-Speech is not yet functional end-to-end.
